Handpan D Amara 20 Sounds Ember Steel

Introducing the concept of a unique instrument: Handpan D Amara made of Ember Steel. This 53-centimetre handpan is a project combining precision craftsmanship with a richness of sound that, when realised, will open up new spaces of musical expression.

Amara's expanded D scale

The project involves creating an instrument with an impressive range of 20 sounds: 13 on the top bowl (D3, A3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4, C5, D5, E5, F5, G5) and seven on the bottom ((C3), (E3), (F3), (G3), (A5), (Bb5), (C6)). This wide scale will enable both subtle melodies and complex, multi-layered compositions.

Exceptional Sound and Tuning

The planned execution in Ember Steel is expected to ensure clarity, depth and long sound duration. We envisage a choice of 432 Hz or 440 Hz tuning, so that the instrument can be tailored to the individual preferences of the future owner.

Comfort and Mobility

As part of the project, we envisage that the handpan will be available with a soft case and, as an option, with a hard case for greater protection. This will make the instrument easily transportable.

Each piece will be created by hand, with attention to detail and precision tuning. It is not just an instrument - it is a tool for self-discovery and building harmony in everyday life.

Note:

In the design, we envisage the possibility of choosing a colour from gold or bronze shades. The final shade will be determined individually before the order is realised. Please note that patina may appear on the surface of the Ember steel over time, giving the instrument a unique, vintage character - this does not affect the sound or tuning.
