Love is a word that everyone understands differently. We feel it for people, for the silence after a long day, for music that stops time. When I first sat down with a handpan in my hands, I thought of exactly that. That there's something about this instrument that describes love better than any lyrics.
This article isn't a lecture on feelings. It's an attempt to show how a sound—a specific, physical one, resonating for a few seconds after being struck—can be a gateway to what we suppress within ourselves on a daily basis.
Self-love begins with stopping
Not from affirmation. Not from journaling. From stopping.
Playing the handpan forces presence. You can't think about the email waiting for you as you hear the sound slowly fade beneath your fingers. This instrument doesn't allow you to be anywhere else. And this—this forced awareness—is the first step to self-love.
People who play regularly tell me similar things: that after 20 minutes with a handpan, they feel different. Calmer. As if something has loosened up. There's no magic to it—it's physiological. Sound in the 40–4000 Hz range activates the nervous system in a way that helps us shift out of fight-or-flight mode.
Self-love sounds abstract. Stopping for 20 minutes with an instrument doesn't.

Where does this "extraordinary energy" of the handpan come from (and why I don't like that word)
Everyone who's ever written about handpan has used the words "extraordinary energy" or "magical sound." I understand where that's coming from—it's really hard to describe it any other way. But I'll try.
The handpan is an instrument with a soft attack and long sustain. You strike it once, and the sound lingers. You layer on more, and suddenly you have a harmony you didn't plan for. This instrument is forgiving. It leads. You don't have to know how to play to feel something coming out of you.
It is available in 432 Hz tuning and 440 Hz. Customization 432 Hz is often chosen by meditators—the frequency is slightly lower, the sound warmer. This isn't mysticism, it's the physics of sound.
Love as a bridge between people
Handpan works best in a group.
I've seen this dozens of times—in workshops, ceremonies, sound healing sessions. An instrument appears in the space, and something shifts. People begin to listen instead of waiting for their turn to speak. The silence between sounds ceases to be awkward.
That's why handpan is so often chosen by yoga teachers, therapists, and circle leaders. Not because it sounds "spiritual," but because it lowers the tension level in the room in minutes.
If you work with groups and are looking for an instrument for your session - text me. I'll help you choose the scale and tuning that best suits your needs.
Practice: How to incorporate handpan into your daily life
You don't have to play for hours straight. Here are some specific entry points:
In the morning, before the phone call. Five minutes with the handpan before checking your messages. Don't practice—just play whatever comes.
After work, instead of watching a TV show. Twenty minutes of improvisation has a different effect than passive rest. You emerge from it with a calmer head.
In a group. Sound healing, workshops, ceremonies—you don't have to organize them yourself. Find a space where someone is playing. Just listening is enough to get you started.
If you want to get started — check out the available instruments in the store. I personally test each handpan before shipping. We select the scale and tuning together—you're not buying blind.
Finally, why did I name the brand "Miłość i Spokój"„
Because these aren't fancy words. This is what handpan does to me every time I play.
I'm not selling the instrument. I'm selling what happens when you sit down with it for the first time and forget you were supposed to check your phone.
If this is what you're looking for - Write. I'd be happy to tell you more.
