Who is the Handpan F# Low Pygmy 21 for?
I recommend this model to experienced musicians, sound therapists and sound healers - 21 sound fields provide space for extensive compositions and therapeutic work.
The F# Low Pygmy 21 is a mutant with a pentatonic treble—the 12 fields of the upper dome utilize only 5 notes (F#, G#, A, C#, E), resulting in an ethereal, intuitive playing experience. Nine notes on the bottom add the missing D and B, completing the full diatonic F# minor scale, while the D3–C#6 range (nearly 3 octaves) allows for bass and melody on a single instrument. Made of approximately 1.2 mm premium stainless steel, it's crafted by the team behind the Mystic Series.
I personally test each unit before shipping – checking the tuning, sustain, and evenness of sound on both domes.
Note:
Details can be found in sample color palette.
Keep in mind that the patina that forms on a handpan's surface may change color slightly over time. This doesn't affect the sound or tuning — it simply gives the instrument a unique, stylish vintage character.

FAQ
Q: What is the F# Low Pygmy 21 handpan and who is it for?
About: The F# Low Pygmy 21 is a mutant handpan with 21 notes (12 high + 9 low) in low tuning. The F#3's tonal center produces a very deep, resonant bass. An instrument for experienced musicians, sound therapists, and sound healers—21 notes enable complex compositions and therapeutic exercises.
Q: Can you play the 21-note handpan without experience?
A: Technically, yes, but I wouldn't recommend it as a first instrument. 21 notes is a lot to master. I recommend starting with a 9- or 10-note model (D Kurd 9 or C# Pygmy 9), and after a year or two, when you have musical intuition, move on to a more advanced model.
Q: What is a mutant handpan?
A: The Mutant Handpan has notes on both the top (12 notes) and bottom (9 notes) domes. This custom arrangement offers exceptional versatility: the top dome is for traditional playing, while the bottom dome expands the range by an extra octave and provides harmonic possibilities not available on standard models.
