Thirteen carefully tuned fields—11 at the top, two at the bottom—open up an even wider world of musical possibilities. The central D3 leads the way through the circle of notes, seamlessly transitioning from the warm tones of A3, Bb3, C4, to the luminous D5 at the top of the scale. Two additional fields at the bottom (F3, G3) add a new dimension of expression to the instrument and allow for even greater freedom of improvisation.
I play this model myself—it's my second instrument of choice. I started my handpan journey with the D Kurd scale, so this one holds special significance for me.

A: Yes - The D Kurd 13 (11+2) expands the classic Kurd 9 with 4 additional notes, including 2 spaces on the top and 2 on the bottom shell. It offers significantly more melodic and harmonic possibilities. The two bottom spaces enable bass playing not available on standard 9-note models.
Q: What is the difference between D Kurd 13 and D Kurd 12?
A: The Kurd 13 adds one extra note on the upper dome (D5) compared to the Kurd 12, expanding the melodic range by one brighter note at the top of the scale. The arrangement of the lower bass fields (F3, G3) remains the same in both models.
Q: How long does it take to process and is there an express option?
A: Standard turnaround time is 2–3 months. The express option shortens this by approximately 4 weeks (available for an additional fee). A few weeks after your order is placed, I send you a video of the audio for your approval.
